Ashwagandha is a mythical plant in Ayurvedic medicine. Used in India for over 3000 years, it enters the preparation of traditional rituals to appease body and mind.
Nicknamed "Indian Ginseng", Ashwagandha is known for its Adaptogenic properties. It helps maintain the overall balance and fights stress.
Here is a simple recipe to make this ancestral drink at home:
Ingredients
- 1 cup of milk (ideally vegetable milk such as almond milk)
- 1 teaspoon of coconut oil
- 1 teaspoon of honey
- Some saffron pistils
- 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1 pinch of powdered nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon of organic Ashwagandha
Of course the list of ingredients is indicative and you can modify it as you wish, provided that you have the essential ingredient: Ashwagandha.
Preparation
- Pour the milk into a saucepan with all spices: ashwagandha, cinnamon, nutmeg, saffron.
- Heat until the milk is hot, but before the thrill.
- When the milk is hot, add the coconut oil and mix well.
- Let cool, filter, and suck with honey and enjoy!
